 STAR LINK LAUNCHED IN INDIA

Elon Musk's Starlink has moved a step closer to its commercial launch in India by placing full residential pricing on its local website.

The updated page shows the monthly charge at ₹8,600. Reportedly, customers are also required to buy a hardware kit priced at ₹34,000 as a one-time purchase. The plan comes with unlimited data and a 30-day trial window to allow new users enough time to test how the service performs in their area.

Starlink is a satellite internet constellation being constructed by SpaceX, aimed at providing high-speed internet access globally, particularly in underserved and remote areas. The constellation operates by deploying thousands of small satellites in low Earth orbit (LEO), enabling low-latency internet connectivity.

Typical Features

Download speeds: ~50–250 Mbps (varies by region and congestion)

Latency: 20–50 ms

Hardware: A dish (“Starlink kit”) + router

Service types: Residential, Business, RV / Roam, Mobility, Maritime, Aviation

Key Features

Global Coverage: Starlink aims to cover areas that traditionally lack reliable internet services, enhancing accessibility in rural and remote locations.

Reduced Latency: With satellites positioned closer to Earth, Starlink can offer lower latency compared to traditional satellite internet services.

Broadband Speeds: Users can expect speeds ranging from 50 Mbps to 250 Mbps, depending on network conditions and hardware.
