iQOO Z11 specifications

• After weeks of promotional activities, iQOO today launched its iQOO Z11 in India. The Z11 introduced in India, however, has a design and specification different than the Z11 available in China and Malaysia. After spending some time with the Indian edition of the iQOO Z11 here are our initial thoughts.
• The Indian iQOO Z11 comes in a black retail box, including a transparent protective case, some documents, a SIM ejector tool, a charging cable, and a 44W power adapter.
• The Indian iQOO Z11 features a 6.83" curved AMOLED display screen which is covered by Schott Xensation Up glass. The panel resolution is 2,800x1,260 pixels, pixel density is 449 ppi and local peak brightness is 3,000 nits. We didn't have any problems reading the text even in really bright light at the highest setting, but depending on the size of the screen, one-handed use might not be suitable for everyone.
• However, Z11 also features Widevine L1 certification – allowing the playback of 1080p video streaming in supported apps – and also supports HDR10, HDR10+ and HLG codecs.
• Moreover, the Z11's screen uses 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, 120Hz, and 144Hz refresh rates and has 3 refresh rate options in the Settings menu: Standard 60Hz, Smart adaptation, and High 144Hz.
• If you choose High mode, you will find an “Apps running at a high refresh rate” option in the same menu, and you can choose the apps and games you want to run at 144Hz. With High mode, our experience was that the frame rate remained at 60 frames per second when displaying image content or watching a video but went up to 120 frames per second when touching the display.
• Smart adaptation mode is essentially the same as High mode, but with a higher max refresh rate than High mode (90Hz vs. 120Hz). The answer is that all was set to 60Hz in standard mode.
• We didn't see the display update at 30 fps and the 144fps refresh rate is just for gaming, according to iQOO. As of this writing, only Clash Royale has 144Hz support on the Z11, but failed to do so with our device, so we couldn't check.
• We did run Call of Duty: Mobile, Dead Trigger 2 and Sky Force: Reloaded on the Z11, but only Call of Duty: Mobile did run with 60Hz and 60FPS in Smart and High modes. We were able to play Dead Trigger 2 at 120Hz and 120FPS in High mode, and Sky Force: Reloaded at 120Hz and 120FPS in High mode.
• Note that the iQOO Z11 has Always-On Display but it lacks the "Scheduled" and "All day" options as found in the more expensive iQOO 15 and iQOO 15R displays. There are only two options: Tap screen or raise, and Move phone slightly. We have asked iQOO if they will include the missing options at any point in the future via an OTA, but we haven't received any confirmation so far.
• Now, the iQOO Z11 also sports a selfie punch hole centrally located, which is provided by the 32MP GalaxyCore GC32E1-WA1XA sensor. It has an f/2.0 aperture, an 84° FOV, and can record 4K videos at 30 FPS.
• The Z11's screen is also fitted with an optical fingerprint sensor which is accurate and proved to be reliable in the few minutes we used the smartphone. We'd have liked to see it higher, though, depending on the size of the display, to make phone unlocking easier.
• Flip the iQOO Z11 around, and you see a horizontally aligned camera module reminiscent of the one we have seen on some Google Pixel smartphones. It is called by iQOO as Skyline Design which prevents Z11 from wobbling on flat surfaces.
• The camera module will have a main camera, an ultrawide camera, and a circular flash.
• The main camera is powered by the 50MP Sony IMX882 sensor. It has an f/1.79 aperture, OIS, and can record 4K@30FPS videos. Behind a lens with an f/2.2 aperture and 115° FOV, the ultrawide camera features the 8MP OmniVision OV08F10-GA5H-001B sensor.
• The Indian iQOO Z11 is 7.99mm thick, weighs 199g, and comes in two colors - Aurora Green and Celestial Blue. This hands-on is based on the Aurora Green model that appears blue under some lighting.
• Regardless of the color model you pick, you get the smartphone with a plastic back, leading to a not-so-premium in-hand experience, which is expected considering the price and target audience - college students. The good news is that the back cover is less likely to get fingerprints.
• The Z11's flat plastic frame has a matte finish and the right side of the frame houses the volume rocker and power button. The USB-C port, flanked with a microphone, a speaker grille and a SIM card slot, are located at the bottom. On top there is the IR blaster, a second speaker outlet and a microphone.
• The Indian iQOO Z11 features MediaTek's Dimensity 7500 Turbo SoC as its brain, which is the first smartphone in India to use the chip as its brain. It has up to 12GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256GB of UFS 3.1 storage.
• We have a 256GB onboard with 12GB of RAM, it's our top-end unit. It runs Android 16-based OriginOS 6, and is promised to receive three-year OS upgrades and five-year security updates. For the first two years, iQOO said that Z11 will get security updates on a monthly basis, whereas, security updates will be made available every three months for the third and fourth year, and then every six months for the fifth year.
• The Z11's nine third-party apps and games are pre-loaded, but if you like, you can remove them.
• The iQOO Z11 India's OriginOS 6 overall software experience will be comparable to that of the more costly iQOO 15 and iQOO 15R both running the same OS. That's not the case with performance, however.
• The iQOO Z11 is not as snappy as iQOO 15 and iQOO 15R due to its chipsets. It also chattered during normal operation, but not to the extent that it would interfere with the user experience. We'd still like to see performance tweaks from iQoo in the future with software updates.
• The gaming experience on the iQOO Z11 was good enough, and the smartphone remained reasonably cool even after prolonged gaming sessions. Again, don't look forward to a gaming experience similar to the iQOO 15 or iQOO 15R.

iQOO Z11 price in India

• iQOO Z11 comes in two sizes in the Indian market: 6GB/128GB and 8GB/128GB, with both models offering a price of Rs 34,999. There are three other variants of the handset. It will go on sale by the Amazon India online store, iQOO India online store and retail stores. The official sale of the iQOO Z11 is to be held on August 25th at 12pm.
